Connected Health Records

Connected Health Records

The health industry uses terms such as EMR (Electronic Health Record), EHR (Electronic Health Record), PMS (Patient Management System), PHR (Personal Health Record) and SHR (Shared Health Record). Now, the CHR (Connected Health Records) is becoming more and more topical.

HotHealth plays a vital role in enabling a Connected Health Record.

So, what is a CHR?

Global Health sees a CHR as a way of seeing a holistic view of someone’s health. The healthcare industry can no longer rely on sending information directly from one EMR to another for the transfer and viewability of information. Increasingly, healthcare consumers are becoming more active in their health, helped with the prevalence of wearable technology such as smartwatches and healthcare in-home devices.

Healthcare is now more multidisciplinary and complex than ever before. Different stakeholders require slightly different information, therefore a single, ‘one size fits all’ solution is not a viable one. This is where the term ‘connected’ is important.

A CHR enables the information to be shared between:

  • Clinicians and clinicians at the same organisation
  • Clinicians and clinicians at other businesses
  • Clinicians and consumers
  • Consumers and clinicians
  • Consumers and their families or caretakers

The CHR goes beyond the information that sits in a primary care provider’s EMR, it can also include information from other organisations’ EMRs. Further to this, a patient will also want to be actively involved in their own health journey.

At Global Health, we have always been passionate about connecting clinicians and consumers. Our 30+ years of experience in the healthcare industry has allowed us to realise the possible benefits of a continuous record that captures the most important information throughout someone’s life and health journey. Someone’s health is ever-changing and has many touchpoints. Historically stored healthcare data has been siloed and has not reflected the fluidity of a person’s health. This is where Connect Health Records come in.

Where does HotHealth fit?

HotHealth is one of the initial touchpoints and the start of a patient or client’s journey with your organisation. Use HotHealth to create a website and encourage consumer engagement through group messaging on the same site. The online appointment booking function allows clients to book online and schedule a video consultation if distance, time or convenience is a factor.

Global Health’s solutions give clinicians and hospitals the systems they need to manage their own client records, share records with others and view a patient’s own data.
